If you’re into cold plunging/ice bathes you really need to make the upgrade to a legit tub and chiller. The 0.5hp isn’t as efficient as I’d hoped but the price jump to 1hp makes it out of reach. If you can afford it go with that. Mine took about 18 hours to chill to 37F and then I had to keep it running to hold that temp at all. It’s helpful to have a breeze blowing over the chiller to make it cool better. The built in fans help but only so much. I have mine set up in the garage near the back door and get a nice cross breeze when both doors are open. If I don’t open them it hovers around 45F running at full blast for 4 hours. Which is plenty cold but if you like that sub 40F temp you’ll need to help it. It also displays temp in C with no way of changing it, which isn’t a big deal to me because I use C at work and understand how it correlates to feel. Overall I’m satisfied with it and everything seems it’s of quality build at this point. The tub seems like it’s durable material, almost like a blow up paddle board material and comes with a lot of helpful accessories. It’s a great startup kit for sure. Set up is pretty simple if you’re mechanically inclined. I wish there was a setup video to follow step by step as they make anyone a pro now. The app is alright, kinda difficult to set up and not straight forward with all the variables you can plug into it. But if you can figure out your parameters it’s cool to be able to set it and forget and have it run when you want for as long as you want. I have mine start before I got to Jiu Jitsu in the afternoon and by the time I come home at the end of the night it’s perfect for recovery and sleep. Hope this helps you, if you’re on the fence, just buy it, you won’t regret it.

I recently had a tub from another manufacturer, where my experience was anything but good. I won't disparage that company, but I had to use a process called "charge back" to get my money refunded because of how bad they were. Fast forward to today. I purchased this tub/chiller with utter trepidation and caution. I asked their customer service roughly 49 questions (most of which they answered). When the unit arrived, everything was boxed and crated, unlike the other company. The Icebound Essentials (IE) unit was in absolute pristine condition—no external flaws or dents (again, unlike the other company). I plugged the unit in, and it worked straight away.

The unit hit the temperatures that it claimed in the advert (with fluctuations within the margins). The tub, in my opinion, is a little smaller than the other company's tub, but for everything else, I have no problems. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the app. I had to muddle through three variations to find the one that was in English and my request for assistance went unanswered.

I would recommend IE to anyone who is looking for a quality unit that does what it claims it will do.

had one for over 18 months now . Absolutely could not be happier with their unit.. but the standout is how responsive the company is.. before the end of business I would have an answer to my question or a suggestion from them.. then they would follow up to see if I was satisfied and how things were going . If there is EVER a company that's mantra is service after the sale, it's this one
