The ideal plunge duration depends on both water temperature and your experience level.

If you're plunging at 37°F, you probably only need 3-6 minutes. If you keep your tub at 50°F, then ~10 minutes may be optimal. Always listen to your body and gradually build up your tolerance over time.

Durable and Huge

The Icebound Essentials Immersion ice bath had brought cold therapy to our home. It's lightweight and portable. At 150 gallons, it also pumps up into a sturdy basin. The sides and bottom feel durable, and the tub is definitely spacious. It's accommodating my short stature so I can't fill the basin all the way to the top, but it still works out well for me. I appreciate that this tub comes with everything I needed to get started. This includes the insulated lid with secure child locks, pump, carry bag, repair kit, quick dry mat, and connection points for water chillers. Although, I don't have water chillers just, yet the hookups seem pretty straight forward with regards to installation. Overall, I think that this is a great investment. If you're interested in plunging after a hard day or to get your day started, this tub may be for you.

Solid Tub - Highly Recommend

So I have been ice plunging for about two years. I cycle and lift daily and at 54yo what ice tub recovery has done for my body, my workouts, and my gains has been nothing short of a miracle. That said, I have been using a version of this tub that is smaller so when I saw this tub at this price, I jumped on it. I utilize a small air compressor to fill it but you could easily to it with the included hang pump. It blows up to a rigid and solid tub. If, like me, your wife is 5'5", you will want to look into a spa submersible booster seat. I'm 6' 180 with broad shoulders and I fit into this tub perfectly. At this price, you can't go wrong. I utilize a 1/2hp chiller which keeps my water at a perfect 48 degrees year round including in the summer on my back patio here in FL.
