Pro 1HP FAQ

Will the Pro 1HP work with my tub?

Yes, if your tub has standard ½" inlet and outlet ports. That includes every Icebound tub and most inflatable and hard-shell plunge tubs. Ball valves and universal ½" fittings are included.

How long does it take to cool my tub?

Plan on roughly 8–10°F per hour for every ~100 gallons, about twice as fast as the EcoPro. Most owners fill the tub in the afternoon and plunge that evening. After the first cool-down, the Pro 1HP holds your set temperature 24/7. Bigger tubs, direct sun or hot climates take longer.

How fast does it heat?

With a 100-gallon fill and about 70°F ambient temperature, expect a warm-up from 55°F to 107°F in about 3.5–4 hours.

How hard is setup?

About 5–10 minutes. Connect the hoses to your tub, fill it, plug the chiller into a standard 120V GFCI outlet and power on — the pump self-primes. Leave about 39" of clearance behind the fan for airflow.

Can I keep it outside?

Yes. The Pro 1HP is IPX4 weather-resistant and ETL certified for indoor or outdoor use. It's rated for ambient temperatures between 32°F and 113°F, so in freezing weather it should be winterized or brought inside.

How do I keep the water clean?

The pre-strainer, 10-micron filter and built-in ozone do most of the work while water circulates. Rinse the filter every 1–3 weeks (three filters are included), change the water every 3–4 weeks, keep the tub covered, and use food-grade hydrogen peroxide as your sanitizer. Avoid other chemicals.

What does it cost to run?

Running cost is similar to a household refrigerator. Your actual cost depends on climate, set temperature, how often you plunge and local electricity rates.
