Icebound Pro Chiller Quick Start Guide: Video Setup Walkthrough

Setting up your Icebound Essentials Pro Chiller for the first time?

These quick-start videos walk you through everything from unboxing to your first plunge, so you can get chilling in minutes. No stress, no confusion.

Whether you’re setting up the Endurance Plunge or one of our other tubs, this step-by-step guide shows exactly what’s included, how to connect the hoses, and how to prepare your chiller for its first session.

1. Unboxing the Pro Chiller and Plunge Tub

Getting Started: What’s Inside the Box

In this video, you’ll see the full unboxing process for the Icebound Essentials Endurance Plunge and Pro Chiller, including all accessories and parts. It’s a perfect overview if you’re setting up your system for the first time and want to confirm you have everything you need.

Key Highlights:

  • The Pro Chiller is heavy: get a friend to help unbox and move it safely. Comes pre-mounted on wheels for easy repositioning.

  • Inflation pressure: 8 PSI for the Endurance Models. 7 PSI for the Immersion Model and 10 PSI for the Endeavor Model (built-in gauge lets you stop at the right point).

  • The Pro Chiller accessories include: Wrench for filter housing, 90° elbows and NPT fittings, set of large and small O-rings, Strainer, Teflon tape, two filters, and two hoses (inlet + outlet).

  • The Tub accessories may vary by model (for example, the Endurance Tub includes a skimmer net and a phone/tablet mount), but all models come with a hand pump, a quick-dry mat, and a repair kit (an orange cylinder with patches, glue, and small tub fittings).

  • The small tub nipple fitting included in the repair kit are designed to connect the tub directly to the hoses. These are the same fittings shown in the video. Please avoid mixing these adapters with the 90° elbow. The 90° elbows are meant to be used with the 304 stainless steel male nipple included in the chiller accessory kit (they come together). A diagram explaining this is below, under section 2.

2. Hose Connections, Strainer & Filter Setup

Connecting Everything the Right Way

In this step, you’ll learn how to connect the hoses and fittings between your plunge and chiller, wrap Teflon tape correctly, and ensure a tight seal with the strainer and filter. It’s a quick but crucial walkthrough that prevents leaks and ensures smooth water flow.

Key Highlights:

  • The chiller includes a filter pre-installed; check snugness with the wrench (don’t overtighten).

  • Always verify that O-rings are in place before tightening any fitting.

  • Apply three wraps of Teflon tape around each male fitting against the threading direction.

  • Install the ball valve on the outlet side of the tub to isolate water for maintenance.

    • If your tub has a third unused port, seal it with the included plug (also wrapped with PTFE tape).

    Important Note:

There are three correct ways to connect the tub and the chiller using the hoses.

If your model is an Endurance Plunge, you can use either connection style because your kit includes both the small fitting and the 90° elbow with the 304 stainless steel nipple.

If your model is an Immersion Plunge or Endeavor Plunge, you must use the 90° elbow with the 304 stainless steel nipple, as these models do not include the small adapter.

If you added a Ball Valve to your order for easier water handling during maintenance, please follow the steps below:

    3. Final Placement & First Run

    Ready for Your First Plunge

The last video wraps up the setup process and shows how to position your chiller and tub for best results. You’ll also get quick tips for placement, portability, and year-round use.

    Key Highlights:

    • Double-check the strainer and filter before turning on the chiller. Once filled above both water ports, power on your chiller.

    • During the initial priming cycle (right after you click on) hold the red button on the main filter housing until it fills with water. The pump will run for 30 seconds, then pause for another 30. One minute after startup, the pump will restart along with the fan and compressor.

    • For colder climates (below freezing temperatures), you can move it indoors during winter to protect the components.

    Final Thoughts

Setting up your Icebound Essentials system is simple, fast, and designed for plug-and-play performance. With just the basic tools included (and these videos), you can be up and running in less than 30 minutes.
