flawless design. great small ice blocks.

i had ordered the larger version of these and i can safely say these are a way superior design.the silicone is rock solid but still flexible so it’s incredibly easy to fill up, transfer, freeze and dump.the lid has a locking mechanism that’s takes minimal effort to open. i was able to do it with one hand no problem.then a huge win is that the molds can stack on top of each other when they aren’t yet frozen so you can pile them up in your freezer.i am clumsy af but i didn’t spill a single drop of water taking these stacked up from my kitchen to my garage.i wish the larger versions were as well built as these but i will definitely be ordering another set.they hold a good size ice cube that doesn’t take too long to melt down and chill the water, they work so well after and i don’t see them breaking down after consistent usage, and its simpler and cheaper than many alternatives.

Great 4 LB Ice Block Makers with Lids.

Got a big cooler or an ice bath? This is a great set to make 3 of the 4 pound ice blocks. Why is it better?1) It is small enough to fit in most freezers with ease.2) It is thick enough to hold its shape.3) It has a lid so you don't pour a ton of water into your freezer creating a mountain of hassle trying to clean that out.Pro Tip: Put a little silicone on the connection tabs so they come apart more easily and be gentle. Frozen rubber is more brittle and if you break the tabs it won't connect as well. If you are careful these should last a long time and make tons of ice.It is a great product packaged attractively. There are many uses for blocks of ice this will save lots of money over store bought ice blocks.

Decided to treat family members for Christmas

I've been cold plunging for a while. Recently bought some molds from Ice Bound that worked out great. Thought this would be a great time to get my adult kids in to it. Ordered a set for all three. I think they'll love them and we can all plunge together.

Holds their shape and chicken approved!

If you have an ice plunge and chickens these forms are for you! I filled them with water to see if they held their shape and Henrietta & Gertrude came to judge. As you can see they instantly thought they had a new water trough just their size. These are very sturdy and keep their shape. The lids fit securely and make it easy to stack in the freezer. When stacking them to freeze I find it better to stack crosswise over the bottom mold to keep the lid tight. If you are using it for a cold plunge you will need more than 3 to lower temp enough. Human and chicken are recommended. 🐔

Excellent for making ice blocks

These were selected for their use to make ice blocks for camping and not for ice baths. These are purpose built for making ice blocks, so they do a much better job than the silicone bread loaf pans used previously. The sides have ribs to make them more ridged, a fill line, and top lid. All of these elements greatly reduced the spillage on the way to freezer that was annoying about this task previously. It’s easy to remove the ice block if you take it out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter for a couple minutes. They are stackable with the lids, which is nice.I was planning on using it for storing homemade ice cream in the freezer as well, but the lid doesn’t seal like tupperware and air definitely gets in. I might be able to put it in a ziplock inside the ice block maker and it would help protect it more from freezerburn. It may not be worth it if it’s only something you need to make once or twice a year, especially at the price, but if it’s something you need to do regularly, they are definitely worth it!*Note*Vine reviewers are invited to select products on offer which Amazon then sends for free. There is no obligation to have a positive review and I try to review as honestly as possible so as not to deceive my fellow humans. There is no payment for reviewing and I have to pay tax on the items at the end of the year, so definitely try to pick things that will be helpful in daily life. I will plan on updating the review if my experience changes.*My rating method*1 star - Terrible. I wouldn't recommend purchasing.2 stars - Marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements to be useful. Buy at your own risk.3 stars - Somewhat lacking. Meets requirements for a product of this type, but is not out of the ordinary and somewhat lacking. If the price is good, consider purchasing.4 stars - Average. Meets the requirements of a product of this type, but is not extraordinary. Consider purchasing.5 stars - Exceptional. Excellent and has some nice features as well as being reasonably priced for a product of this type. Highly recommend purchasing, if it will be useful to have another whangdoodle.
